Abstract

The role of  alms fund that is received by rightful receiver in decreasing the  income gap and the poverty ( the case study on the rightful acceptor in Cirebon alms center ). This research intends to analyze the role of alms fund received by rightful receiver in decreasing the income gap and the poverty in Cirebon alms center. Data used in this research is the income of the rightful receiver before and after receiving the alms fund from Cirebon alms center. The method of analyzing data applied is the  income gap indicator using Gini Index, Atkinson Index, and Lorentz Curve,  and the poverty indicator includes Headcount Index, Poverty Gap Index (P1), Income Gap Ratio (I) Sen Index (P2) and Foster Greer Thorbecke (FGT) Index (P3). The research objects are the rightful receiver family guided and supported  by Cirebon alms center the year 2014.The research result shows that the alms existence makes social welfare condition is getting better, it is about 24.5 percent decreasing from income lossafter the existence of alms. Alms distribution decreases the total number of the poor, it is about 36.19 percent seen from the value of headcount index. Alms distribution also gives good impact on decreasing the gap of poverty, it is about Rp. 23.624,71 seen from the decreasing of poverty gap index. The existence of alms has decreased the level of deep poverty, it is about 22.85 percent seen from the decreasing the value of income gap ratio. The existence of alms also has decreased the level of severe poverty. It can be seen from the value sen index and FGT index. For the value of sen index decreases about 28.63 percent and the value of FGT index decreases about 10.75 percent
