Abstract

This research aims to analyze the socio-economic characteristics of street vendors in Majalengka Regency. The data analysis method used was quantitative descriptive analysis method, while the sample used was 50 respondents using the snowball technique. The research results obtained: The social characteristics of street vendors in Majalengka Regency are: male street vendors, namely 76%, female street vendors 24%, the highest level of education is at the high school level or equivalent as much as 58%, the majority of street vendors sell culinary types, 92% of the facilities available used is using carts 90% and the majority of street vendors are located on the sidewalks 66% then the economic characteristics of street vendors in Majalengka Regency are: the majority of street vendors' business capital is theirs, the average initial business capital is between Rp. 1,000,000 to Rp. 5,000,000, the average income of street vendors is less than IDR 500,000 (per day), next is that street vendors, viewed from an Islamic economic perspective, in carrying out their activities as street vendors are quite good because the majority of street vendors, 86%, pray five times a day, even after there are no buyers, 94% of street vendors also have carry out the habit of infaq alms as a feeling of caring for others. Apart from that, what is bought and sold does not violate Islamic law.
